The Ask: Redesign a private jet interior for a longtime client who wanted his "living room, but in the air."

We'd already worked with this client a few times before they asked us to take on their aircraft, so we knew exactly how they liked to live: low-key, unfussy, but still luxurious. Rather than gut the cabin, we kept the existing mahogany paneling and built a palette of layered blues and greys around it. Textiles did a lot of the work here. Custom carpeting, leather seating, and tailored upholstery had to soften the woodwork while meeting FAA-grade material testing. In the cockpit, we tucked in plush sheepskin in a matching grey color. The exterior went electric blue with an ombré fade and a custom tail fin graphic.  Inside, the layout was re-engineered so seats lie flat and sofas convert into a king bed.
