Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Alicia Cheung ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you interact with our SMS-based personal assistant service (the "Service") or the website at aliciacheung.com.
1. Information We Collect
The Service collects only the information necessary to receive and organize text-message-based notes, ideas, and reminders. Specifically:
Phone number — the mobile number of the account owner who sends messages to the Service.
Message content — the text of any SMS messages sent to the Service's phone number.
Timestamps — the date and time each message is received.
Website data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) if you visit the website. No tracking cookies or analytics are used beyond what is strictly necessary to serve the site.
2. How We Use Information
Information collected through the Service is used solely to:
Receive, categorize, and store personal notes, reminders, and ideas in a private spreadsheet belonging to the account owner.
Automatically classify messages by category (e.g., idea, reminder, task) and extract details such as due dates, priority, and topic tags.
Send short SMS confirmations back to the sender acknowledging that a message was received and logged.
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the Service.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not share your mobile number or message content with anyone outside of the limited service providers listed below, who process data only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations:
Twilio, Inc. — used to send and receive SMS messages.
Google LLC — used to store logged messages in a private Google Sheet and to host the underlying automation via Google Apps Script.
Anthropic, PBC — used to classify and categorize the content of incoming messages via the Claude API. Message content sent to Anthropic is not used to train models.
These providers are sub-processors only and cannot use your information for their own marketing or commercial purposes. We do not disclose information to any other third party except where required by law (for example, in response to a valid legal process).
4. SMS Consent and Opt-Out
The Service is intended for personal use by the account owner. Phone numbers and message content collected via SMS are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. You may opt out of messaging at any time by replying STOP to any message from the Service; to re-subscribe, reply START. For help, reply HELP or email us at the address below.
5. Data Retention
Messages logged in the Service's Google Sheet are retained indefinitely so that the account owner can reference them. You may request deletion of any or all data at any time by emailing us using the contact information below, and we will permanently delete the requested records.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including restricting access to the Google Sheet to the account owner, using secure API keys stored in protected script properties, and transmitting all data over encrypted (HTTPS / TLS) connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit exposure by collecting only what is necessary.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
