The Ask: Bring new life and function to the kitchen, dining room and powder room with a jolt of personality, all without losing the character of the original house.

The existing kitchen simply didn't function. The uppers were way too high, the appliances needed replacing, and it was all a little boring. We started with designing the kitchen, opening it up and grounding it with the decorative detail of fluted sage green hood and island. We brightened the space with white perimeter cabinetry, veined marble counters, and brass details throughout. The dining room went bolder: we wrapped the walls in a deep, saturated green, paired it with a sculptural globe pendant, and let a modern painting do the rest. Down the hall, the dramatic powder room shows off the client's personality with a moody floral wallpaper, warm brass sconces, rich zellige tile and a stunning marble. It's a home that feels rooted in its bones, with plenty of new life blooming throughout.
